Research has shown that group arts activities, including dance, can be beneficial for mental health. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, these vital group supports have lessened or stopped completely due to physical distancing and lockdown restrictions. We want to explore whether online dance can provide social and psychological support to young people.
Our aim is to understand whether 8 weeks of online dance classes can support young people (aged 16-24) who are living with anxiety.
We plan to use focus groups and participatory approaches, as well as collect surveys, to understand if and how online dance may support young people.
